Our Story
Hilly’s Garage started the same way a lot of motocross stories do... with a kid, a little bike, and weekends spent at the track.
My son first tried out a Razor electric bike, and loved it (even though he fell off on his first run down the street and broke his clavicle), so we signed him up to a Little Speedsters class and before you know it, we had bought a Yamaha TTR50. He was just 7 years old. Back then it was all about learning the basics, riding around local tracks, and learning to change oil and air filters regularly. What started as a hobby quickly turned into a lifestyle. Canopies, Coolers, and lots of Ice (this is Texas after all). Of course, it didn't stop there... My daughter then wanted a dirt bike, so we now had a mini fleet of a TTR 50 and PW50. Four stroke vs two stroke and who's bike is better of course broke out immediately (and every rider still has those discussions at the track)
As the years have passed (way too quickly imo) the bikes got bigger, the racing got faster, and the garage slowly filled with tools, gear, spare parts, fuel cans, pressure washers, stands, and everything else that comes with motocross life.
My son progressed from the TTR50 to a Kawasaki KX65 and started coaching lessons at The MXFactory, then he moved onto a KX85, before moving onto a Yamaha YZ125 two-stroke, a bike that taught him how to really ride with tons of help from Coach Tre McCollough and Dirt Lab Coaching. Today he races a Husqvarna FC250, spending weekends chasing holeshots and learning that humbling experience that you are not always the fastest kid on the block. Of course my little girl got the hand me downs. From riding the Pdub to ripping the KX65 around, she now enjoys a good old reliable Honda CRF125.
As we have progressed through the years, I realized one thing over everything else. Gear, equipment and tools have to be good quality, otherwise the race day falls apart along with the cheap products.
That’s where Hilly’s Garage was born.
Hilly’s Garage is built from that track day. Where we have spent countless hours fixing, hammering, sticking and zip tying things together, we have discovered great products and want to share them with the rest of the community.
Why? Because motocross isn’t just something we watch... We sweat, run, carry, and chase our kids and our bikes around the state and our country.
It’s what we do, its in our blood, and we wouldn't change it for anything.
